Struan Robertson wins GT1/GT2 morning race

Struan Robertson has taken the TradeZone GTRNZ GT1/2 race win at Hampton Downs as well as claiming the GT2 class win.
The wet track conditions and handicap start played into the hands of the GT2 class cars. Robertson took the win by almost two-seconds over Brayden Phillips who was second overall and in the GT2 class.

Brock Cooley claimed third in a tight battle with Shane Parsons by just a tenth of a second at the line, the pair pulled a significant 15-second lead over Nathan Strachan in fifth. Eric Hennephof finished sixth with Maurice Shapley six-seconds back in seventh, ahead of the lead GT1 car.

That lead GT1 car would be Glenn Smith who finishing eighth overall, with John De Veth 1.6-seconds adrift in second in class. De Veth recovered after a spin that saw him rejoin behind Smith, handing him the class lead.

Marvyn Towers was eighth in GT2 and 10th overall, with Kerry Jones 0.3-seconds back with third in GT1. Simon Barry and Morris Turner round out the GT2 top ten in 12th and 13th overall.

Brian Grey came home fourth in GT1 class and 16th overall, after running off track early in the race.
