John De Veth takes GT1/GT2 honours in opening race
John De Veth has dominated the opening TradeZone GT1/GT2 race at Hampton Downs, beating Cameron Jones to the line by nearly 25-seconds! Kerry Jones took third place ahead of Sean Kirkpatrick and Hans Ruiterman, the later was also the first car home in the GT2 class.
Morris Turner grabbed sixth place overall ahead of Beernard Verryt and Maurice Shapley in seventh and eighth. Struan Robertson and Bob Sievwright rounded out the top ten.
Marvyn Towers and Nigel Snow took 11th and 12th, whilst Nigel Karl crossed the line in 13th with Scott Carswell 14th and Brendon Sole 15th. Wayne Conder and Terry Jones did not finish.
