New Racing Season upon us before we know it!!
The 2021-22 TradeZone GTRNZ motor racing season is nearly upon us. Winter is drawing to an end, and recent lock downs around the country, hopefully mean people have had a little extra time to re-build their cars and get prepared for the exciting season ahead of us.
The TradeZone GTRNZ racing calendar is finally out, with the first race meeting to be held on the 12 – 14 November, at Manfeild hosted by the Wellington MG Car club. Ron Robertson of the MG club says, “the local community get behind us every year with the classic cars being a huge draw card”. This is the only time TradeZone GTRNZ will be racing at Manfeild for the season, so it will really be something to look forward to, kicking the season off in style at this iconic meeting.
Motorsport promotor Geoff Short / Speedworks, has confirmed the remaining five rounds, including the GP meeting on the 11 – 13 February at Hampton Downs where we will be racing the International / long track.
Some small rule changes will be in place, with new Break-Out times for GT2 and GT3 (from AGM remits that passed) potentially making the coming seasons racing more exciting than previous years.
21-22 memberships are coming in and it’s great to see some new names and returning members that have had a season or two off.
Entry fees for both grids have been reduced to, $395 for GT3/4 and $495 for GT1/2 this includes Friday practice and MSNZ levies.
