Brendon Sole wins final GT1/GT2 race at Pukekohe

Brendon Sole has taken the overall and GT2 class win in the final TradeZone GTRNZ GT1/2 race at Pukekohe, followed home by Struan Robertson in second.

With a reverse handicap start, the GT1 cars were only able to claw their way back to mid pack. Kerry Jones and John De Veth took first and second for GT1 but only made their way to sixth and seventh overall.

Brian Grey and Blair McDonald took third and fourth in GT1 but 11th and 12th overall.

Despite taking the race start Nigel Snow wasn’t able to get the car up to speed and coasted into turn one before pulling the car to the side, forcing yellow flags through turn one for the first half of the race.

Nathan Strachan took home third overall and in GT2, holding a significant five-second lead over Andrew Stewart in fourth, with Brayden Phillips another two-seconds behind in fifth.

Shane Parsons and Nigel Karl finished eighth and ninth overall, enough for sixth and seventh in class, with Shane Whitley just a tenth behind Karl in eighth.

Eric Hennephof and Marvyn Towers rounded out the GT2 top ten in ninth and tenth.

As a result of his issue Nigel Snow didn’t finish the race.
